MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Sweltering heat continues after the Fourth of July with little opportunity for cooling until the weekend.
Wednesday: With high pressure still in control just to our east, it will help keep the area mainly sunny early on. The sea breeze is still expected to move in later this afternoon, promoting cloud cover and a few showers/storms (rain coverage around 30%).
After morning lows start off in the lower to upper 70s, afternoon highs are forecast to soar to the mid and upper 90s!
In addition, the low level moisture will make it feel even hotter, with heat index values approaching 105°! It is crucial that you limit sun exposure and stay hydrated in heat like this.
Beach and Boating forecast information and your Tide Times are available below:
Thursday through Saturday: Hot and humid conditions will continue as high pressure east of us stays in control. Changes will occur through the weekend. Those changes include more clouds and rain coverage (30-40%) as a cold front approaches. Morning lows are forecast to be in the lower to mid 70s. Afternoon highs are expected to climb to the mid 90s, with heat indices possibly in the triple digits.
Sunday through Tuesday: More clouds are expected to build in as a cold front approaches from the northwest. This will bring in higher opportunity for rain as well (40% Sunday, 50% Monday and Tuesday). Expect morning temps in the mid 70s with highs in the lower 90s.
