MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A dense fog advisory will be in effect until 9:00 AM ET for most of the Big Bend and South Georgia. Take a look at the map below for county specifics:

More warmth and moisture is still being fed into the area due to a persistent combination of high pressure at the surface off the Eastern Seaboard and high pressure aloft.

Both are shielding the southeast from cold fronts approaching from the northwest. This is beginning to change, with today showing more signs of an unsettled pattern. High pressure will eventually break down, allowing more rain to move in.

Winds out of the southwest will help warm up the region again today, with highs in the mid to upper 70s and mostly cloudy skies. A stray shower or two is possible later this afternoon (rain coverage at less than 20%).

Into Thursday, another round of dense morning fog looks possible, with morning lows near 60°. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s again. The ridge of high pressure will continue to break down with a cold front approaching from the west.  Isolated showers and storms are possible Thursday night into Friday morning (30% coverage).

Friday afternoon may feature scattered showers and storms (50% coverage) as the front drives through. Lows will be around 60° with highs in the mid 70s. This front will not have much in terms of support for strong storms, so that is not a concern with this first system.

The NEXT front will likely be more of a concern for weekend plans. A wash-out is possible at this point with widespread showers developing off a growing low pressure out west. Saturday and Sunday highs will likely hover around 70° with rain coverage at or above 60-70%.

The picture above shows a chance of severe storms five days from now (Sunday). Being five days out, this forecast is still a bit unclear in terms of impact and specific risks, but be on the look out for potentially strong thunderstorms to end the weekend.
