MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms have developed more easily today compared to the recent past, as enough moisture and heating have overcome the once-drier air mass around us, giving more support to the building rain areas. The evening will features these pockets of rain and occasional thunder near the Big Bend area, moving mostly to the east or east-northeast. A few storms could be briefly strong, but nighttime severe weather chances are very low. Lows will drop into the mid and lower 70s. The current moisture will interact with a nearby front over middle Georgia to help promote more cloudiness, as well as periods of showers and thunderstorms. Highs may be held back closer to 90° for some spots if the cloud cover is thick enough to limit the warming of the sun. The front will diminish Friday but still provide occasional cloud cover and rain action. The tropics remain a non-issue and developing tropical systems are not forecast for the remainder of the week.
