TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Northerly winds and very cloudy conditions kept the area cooler than expected today. This is expected to be the case as we head into tomorrow morning. By the afternoon, a strong cold front is expected to pass us, giving us cooler weather and clearer skies for the evening and end of the week.

Tonight, overnight lows fall to the upper 40s for much of the region under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be light from the northwest at 5-10 mph.

We'll start Thursday with areas of patchy fog, but that should burn off by mid-morning. Highs will heat to the mid 60s with decreasing clouds. Winds will become more northerly in the afternoon after the cold front passes us. Thursday night continues to stay cool with overnight lows dropping to the upper 30s.

The cooler weather will stick with us through the start of the weekend, with Friday being the coldest day. Highs for Friday and Saturday will only top off in the 50s, but we'll hold on to the clear and sunny conditions. Overnight lows for these days will fall to the lower 30s. This means blankets and jackets are a must!
