MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
A drier air mass is having an effect on the thunderstorm cycle by heavily reducing development and quantity this evening. Only isolated cases of rain are forecast for areas near the Apalachicola River and the Big Bend coast, and perhaps a spot east of I-75 in south Georgia. Otherwise, a clearer mode will be evident in the sky overnight with lows from 70° interior to the mid 70s coast. A good deal of sun will last for most of Thursday, with scattered clouds with the heating of the day, but high pressure nearby will keep showers few and far between. Coverage will be less than 20% of the region with highs in the low to mid 90s. It won't be as humid as past days, too. Our weekend remains generally dry to start, with perhaps a few more scattered showers or storms by late Sunday.
The tropics may effect weather this weekend in south and/or central Florida, with possible tropical depression or storm development. Impacts beyond the weekend for other Gulf Coast areas, including the Big Bend, are quite unclear.
