MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
A higher-end severe-weather situation is occurring in interior south Georgia this afternoon and evening, and active storms are possible to likely closer to the stateline counties, too, with a lesser chance for strong or long-lasting tornadoes. For the late afternoon and early evening for the Big Bend specifically, a broken line of strong to occasionally severe storms will track west to east carrying chances for strong and damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and some large hail. The overall threat will diminish around midnight as the actual cold front passes through early Thursday. A clearing trend will commence early in the morning with breezy conditions and lows in the mid to upper 50s. Sunshine returns for the day with highs only in the low 70s with considerable wind. Several days of settled weather with sunshine and coolness will extend through the weekend. A "particularly dangerous situation" tornado watch continues until 8 p.m. for many interior south Georgia counties.
