MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Scattered showers and storms are present once again late today, mainly moving to the northeast into interior areas and spreading locally heavy rain and brief thunderstorms in some locations through mid-evening. Ample moisture remains over the region from the continued onshore flow off the bay and Gulf. Add an approaching cold front to the mix later this week, and areas of rain and thunder will redevelop during the daytime heating. Overall rain coverage may reach 60% of the inland areas, with slightly less coverage in the southeast Big Bend through Friday. Lows tonight will be in the mid 70s, and highs rebound to the lower 90s, with some isolated mid 90s in areas with prolonged sunshine. A small upper high will build over the northeast Gulf this weekend, limiting the number or showers and storms and promoting higher afternoon readings, but isolated storms during that time frame may become intense or possibly severe.
