Many locations will experience a gradual end to the shower activity, after receiving half an inch to an inch of much-needed rain since midnight. A swirl of low pressure to the west of the region will aid in nudging the cloudiness and the lingering front out of the region early Thursday, but with leftover moisture and colder temperatures, some clouds will be slow to depart. Sunshine will increase during the afternoon Thursday. Northeast winds will maintain the presence of a cool air source on the area. As a result, after morning lows well into the 40s, we'll only see highs in the 55 to 60-degree range despite additional sun. Friday morning will also be chilly, but a slight warming trend will commence leading into the weekend. Early next week may have a repeat of rain, storms, and unsettledness.
