Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (05/20/2015)

Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Clouds are bubbling just inland from the Forgotten and Emerald coasts, where this evening's thunderstorms may originate.  We won't exactly have the same set-up tonight as we did yesterday which fueled numerous strong and severe storms.  A few isolated cases of heavy rain and active lightning are possible with these developing areas in north Florida, with lesser chances for storms in southern Georgia later tonight.  Scattered clouds and clear breaks are forecast overnight with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.  North Florida may have the focus for afternoon thunder again Thursday afternoon through evening as highs reach the low to mid 90s.  Drier air and a shift to a northeast flow Friday will reduce rain potential, decrease moisture, and shave off a couple of degrees from daytime highs as the Memorial Day weekend approaches.
