Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (09/10/2014)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

An area of high pressure is helping to suppress the overall shower and thunderstorm action today.  Isolated rain and brief thunder is possible near and just inland from the coast through mid-evening, but it's unlikely to have excessively heavy rain or stronger storms.  Partial clearing will occur overnight with lingering mugginess in some areas.  Lows will fall to the lower 70s.  Rain coverage returns to only about 20% to 30% of the area Thursday afternoon with the high-pressure system remaining in place over the northern Gulf zones.  Highs will make a run for the low and mid 90s Thursday.  By the weekend, we'll be in a squeeze play between an advancing cold front in the Southeast and a source of tropical moisture associated with a low-pressure disturbance.  There will be better opportunities for numerous showers and thunderstorms by then.
