MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- After a warm start this morning, another hot afternoon is expected. But the major change is the increase in more rainfall expected due to a front overhead. Fronts help to spark storm activity and once the daytime heating gets going, the storms are expected to increase in number. Rain coverage will range from 40% west to 60% east. Afternoon highs, however, are still expected to reach the mid 90s with heat index values above 100 degrees before the rainfall. After the rain, overnight lows are expected to range in the mid to upper 70s.
Moving into Wednesday and beyond, a drier air mass will move in, helping the afternoons to feel more comfortable, albeit, still hot. Wednesday afternoon highs will likely hover in the lower 90s with isolated storms possible. Thursday into Saturday, much of the same is still expected, but with even less rain coverage as the drier air from the northeast moves in and leaves its mark.
