TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - One last mild day before an Arctic front moves in and ushers in frigid air. Temps today start off chilly near the freezing mark with some light frost and light fog likely. By the afternoon though, under mostly sunny skies, temps will increase to near average conditions in the mid 60s. Overnight, the front moves in and temps will fall back into the mid to upper 30s with winds picking up late tonight causing wind chills, or feels-like temps, to be near freezing. Wednesday afternoon, highs won't get out of the 50s and then into Thursday morning as the bitterly cold high pressure system moves in, lows will be in the mid 20s. But that'll just be one factor. Winds will howl out of the northwest up to 20 mph making the wind chills fall into the low teens. Highs Thursday afternoon will be brutal still, only getting into the mid to upper 40s. By Friday morning, it's frigid once again in the mid 20s, but the winds will slack off eliminating the wind chill factor. By Saturday, we'll begin to moderate, however waking up in the morning will still be chilly near or below freezing. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Sunday we usher in our next upper level system which could spark a few isolated showers. Temps climb into the low 60s. More rain possible to begin next work week with highs climbing back into the mid 60s.
