MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The severe weather threat will quickly diminish as the sun rises, due to a cold front pushing east of the area by then. This will allow drier winds from the northwest to filter in, providing the local area with more sunshine, but temperatures will not be cooler, with numbers still expected to be above average. Expect highs for Tuesday and Wednesday to range in the mid to upper 70s with partly cloudy skies. Lows are forecast to be near 50 degrees.

For Thursday, a reinforcing cold front may bring a stray shower or storm, before driving in a significant drop in temperatures. This cold air mass that is expected to move in, will likely bring our region the coolest temperatures we've seen this season. Morning lows on Friday will be in the 30s, and on Saturday, morning lows may drop to the upper 20s and lower 30s! Highs for both Friday and Saturday will struggle to rise, with numbers expected to stay in the 50s! The sweaters will be needed all day long.

Sunday and beyond, a general warming trend is anticipated as a new system out west approaches the region.
