TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Another unsettled weather day locally. More early showers and storms should fire up for our Florida counties by mid-morning through the early afternoon before another round of storms stream in from the Tri-State region impacting South Georgia later in the day. Some of the storms can be strong and even border on the severe side as we saw on Monday. This is due to a sea-breeze moving inland and an upper level low pressure system currently moving through the mid south. The moisture source should be turned off later tomorrow and into the rest of the forecast period as a high pressure system builds in over the open Gulf and stabilizes our atmosphere. Today temps edge up to the mid 90s in the afternoon with lows tonight bottoming out in the mid 70s once again with some leftover moisture causing some patchy fog. Wednesday will be a transition day in which a few of us get in on the wet weather, but many others stay dry. We'll call for about a 30 to 40% chance of storms, especially the farther east you are. Temps are steamy in the mid to upper 90s once again. Thursday and beyond, rain chances drop significantly, and that means more sunshine in the forecast that'll heat us up consistently into the upper 90s. Heat index values will exceed 100°. Several areas will see their actual air temps break 100° on Thursday and Friday--possibly even Saturday, before temps moderate a little bit late in the forecast period as rain chances creep back in.
