TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Temps slowly but surely increasing as we head into the next several days. As our high pressure system that has been dominating our weather pattern slowly drifts eastward, winds turn more from the Gulf of Mexico ushering in a little more moisture and more heat as well. Today, temps start off cool once again in the upper 30s and low 40s. With plenty of sunshine and winds shifting from the southeast, temps will quickly heat up for the rest of your Election Day into the mid to upper 70s making it quite pleasant to head out to the polling stations. We'll remain much milder tonight as the flow remains from the Apalachee Bay with temps only getting down to near 50°. Wednesday still looks dry with upper 70s likely. By Thursday, an impending cold front slowly advancing along the Gulf states head into our area with scattered showers expected. Temps get more spring-like nearing 80°. By Friday, the front passes, winds pick up and veer from the northwest ushering in more cold air just in time for the weekend. Temps stay capped in the mid 60s for highs on Friday and will plummet back to the upper 30s by Saturday morning. Conditions for FSU's Homecoming game remain clear with temps nearing 70° in the afternoon. By next week, we slowly moderate with lows in the 40s and highs in the low 70s.
