The main players in the local weather today are a stationary front draped throughout the east coast of the country, and an area of tropical moisture pushing into north Florida. Cloud cover and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected from the Big Bend and down the entire coast of Florida. Tallahassee and surrounding regions have a 50% chance of seeing a hit-or-miss shower today, with the higher chance in eastern counties and also around Leon, Wakulla, and Jefferson counties. High temperatures throughout all of north Florida and south Georgia will be in the upper 80s. Locations that receive hours of continuous rainfall this afternoon may only peak in the mid 80s. The rainy pattern in place will continue through the week, and could hinder some July 4th celebrations. The Storm Team will keep you updated on further developments as the holiday draws closer. By the weekend, the regions will have rain chances in the 40-50% range, with afternoon highs increasing into the lower to mid 90s by next week.
