MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- High pressure is in control today and it will be the guiding force for winds out of the east. This east wind will help keep us warmer than previous days. And this pattern change will continue throughout the work week with highs well above average again. Expect temperatures in the 80s for daytime highs as the east wind pulls in the warmer influence from the Atlantic. It may be somewhat breezy along the coast and open waters with winds up to 15 knots or higher. Lows tonight will range in the upper 50s to lower 60s (which are more likely along the coastline).
Into Wednesday and Thursday, clouds will continue to build ahead of a cold front but temperatures can still jump to the low to mid 80s for highs with lows near 60 degrees. Thursday, we could see a stray shower, but the front is expected to remain starved of moisture in our area.
Friday and beyond, the front passage will not bring cool air like the last, so expect lows in the upper 50s and highs in the mid 80s.
