TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Chilly mornings and mild afternoons persist for most of this week. Temps plunge to near 40° this morning but generous sunshine, due to high pressure overhead, will allow temps to soar to the low to mid 70s this afternoon. We'll be locked in this pattern through Thursday with overnight temps in the low to mid 40s and afternoon highs in the mid 70s. High pressure moves off the east coast allowing winds to turn clockwise around the system, so they'll advance in from the Gulf to end the work week and head into the weekend. This will bring in more moisture and more warmth. Friday morning starts off milder around 50° and afternoon highs will soar into the upper 70s. We'll experience near-record heat this weekend with temps in the low 80s. Late Sunday night, a cold front pushes along the Gulf shore sparking some showers and storms overnight into Monday.
