MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Rainfall will continue to heavily impact the Plains states in the middle U.S. But for the southeast and our local area, it's another quiet, warm day expected. The warmest air of the year is expected to move in over midweek as high pressure continues to guide unseasonably warm air to our region from the south.

Expect afternoon highs to surpass the mid to upper 70s Tuesday with 80s possible. Clouds will likely build in over the morning, but I expect the afternoon to be mainly sunny. Overnight lows will range in the low to mid 50s into Wednesday morning with afternoon highs Wednesday surpassing 80 degrees. Thursday will likely be the warmest day of the week with highs potentially in the mid 80s!

By Friday, rainfall will likely return in the afternoon as the potent system out west approaches our region. As to how much rainfall and specific timing, expect the weekend to see the highest threat for precipitation.
