Storm Team Tuesday morning forecast (06/18/2013)

Posted

This morning started out very close to the Tallahassee average low temperature, in the low 70s. Slowly but surely, the region will warm up after the sun rises, peaking out at 94 degrees for Tallahassee and in the lower 90s throughout north Florida and south Georgia. There is a 20% chance of seeing scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms today. These storms are associated with the sea breeze and will occur in the afternoon to early evening hours. Rain chances will increase into the rest of the week due to a cold front draped throughout the southeastern United States. The frontal system is bringing widespread scattered rainfall throughout north Georgia, central Alabama, and central Mississippi. For our local area, rain chances will bump up to 50% tomorrow and 40% from Thursday to Monday as the cold front sinks south into our local area. Afternoon high temperatures for the rest of the week will be in the lower 90s. Overnight lows will remain in the lower 70s. Today will be the best day for outdoor activities this week, so put on sunscreen, stay hydrated, and enjoy it!
