Light showers passing through the region should end early this morning, and a cold front moves through just to our North. Drier and cooler air will help prevent showers from passing through this afternoon and they should hold off till after midnight. At the stroke of midnight, we should just be dealing with cloudy skies and temps in the upper 40’s. New Year’s Day looks a little cloudier with passing showers in the afternoon and a high of 63. Heavier rain showers and a few thunderstorms will move through the region on Thursday, as of now rain amounts look like they will vary between 1”-1.5” inches. After a strong cold front moves through Thursday night, prepare for much colder air around here. Highs on Friday will only reach 55 degrees with sunny skies and lows will drop to the upper 30’s. By Saturday, we should have mostly clear skies, but our morning lows will drop down to the upper 20’s and low 30’s. By the afternoon we should top out at 60. Sunday looks partly sunny with a 20% chance of showers and highs in the low to mid 60’s. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 66.
Happy New Year’s Eve!
