MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A frontal system stays stalled to our north, allowing a large amount of moisture to move in from the Gulf of Mexico. The result this morning is very dense and widespread fog all across the viewing area. Dense fog conditions will continue until 11am ET. Once the fog clears, mostly cloudy conditions are expected to filter in the region, keeping the sunlight limited today. Highs are still forecast to reach the mid 70s with an isolated shower possible (20% coverage).
Into late Tuesday night and Wednesday, thunderstorms are expected to be more prominent as the front begins to move across our area. Rain coverage is expected to jump to 60% with lows in the mid 60s and highs in the mid 70s. Severe weather is not expected to be a threat, though lightning may occur with some storms.
Thursday into Friday, general clearing and cooling will occur, with lows expected to drop to the upper 40s by Thursday morning and upper 30s by Friday morning. Highs will be in the 60s both of these days.
Saturday into Sunday, more warmth and moisture returns ahead of our next frontal system.
