TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Searing heat continues with temps starting off a bit above average in the upper 60s. By this afternoon, we'll peak in the mid 90s with a few sea breeze storms possible, mainly for our Florida communities. High pressure over the Gulf allows for winds to come in from the west and southwest, allowing for the hot trend to continue. Temps range from the upper 60s and low 70s in the morning to the mid 90s in the afternoon through the first half of the weekend. A few scattered storms are expected in the afternoon with some sizable downpours, but nothing is expected to turn severe. As a cold front pushes into the Southeast for Sunday through early next work week, storm chances increase and temps will back up thanks to increased clouds to near seasonal levels in the low 90s.
