MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The heat will continue to climb as high pressure intensifies. The high pressure cell that will establish itself in the Gulf of Mexico will help to guide winds from the northwest. This will limit thunderstorm coverage for the week to just around seasonal coverage (30-40%) as the sea breeze will be limited from pushing too far inland. With the intense heating expected, the widely scattered to isolated storms that may form do have the potential to be severe. Those main threats will be strong winds and locally heavy rainfall. The threat for widespread severe weather isn't likely though. Daytime highs will range in the lower to mid 90s with humidity values adding to the hot feeling in the afternoon. Overnight lows into Wednesday morning are forecast to drop into the lower 70s, right around average for this time of year.

For the rest of the week, daytime highs are forecast to climb into the mid and upper 90s with rain coverage around 30-40% each day.
