Roads are thick with fog this morning and that’s not all for moisture in the area. A stationary front is planted over the panhandle at the moment, bringing rain and a few thunderstorms along for the ride. Storm chances increase into the night and early Wednesday morning starting after midnight and lasting through lunch tomorrow.. But that doesn’t mean rain will be difficult to come by throughout your Tuesday; some in South Georgia are already getting their roads wet. Even with rain, highs today will reach around 70 degrees. Winds remain relatively calm out of the south at 10 mph. A low pressure system will push along the gulf coast and head northeast once it hits Louisiana this afternoon. The system will bring off and on heavy rain through this afternoon and a chance at severe weather tonight through mid morning Wednesday. Rain will start to taper Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. When the rain is all said and done, cooler weather and clear skies will be there for the lovers this Thursday, Valentine’s Day. Long term thinking points to a return of arctic air by the weekend; lows Sunday and Monday will flirt with the upper 20s.
