A few showers and thunderstorms are roaming around the region again … rather spotty and selective with their spread of downpours and lightning. Some locations may get through the evening without any rain, while a few neighborhoods may receive quick downpours and frequent lightning with an outside chance for a briefly stronger storm before 9 p.m. Overnight, clouds will disperse, and temperatures will remain mild. Lows will fall into the upper 60s. The pattern of afternoon showers and storms repeats itself Wednesday after morning sun and midday clouds. Highs will top out in the 90° range, and about 40% of the area can be impacted by rain or thunder in the afternoon. An upper disturbance to the west of the area may help to cause a bit more rain coverage later in the week, but excessive widespread rain and storms are not locally anticipated.
