A band of rain will lurk west of the region late today, crawling toward the east through the night. Periods of showers and rain will impact western and coastal areas overnight, but thunderstorms will be somewhat minimal in number, and severe weather is not anticipated. Lows will drop toward 60°. Areas of rain may persist for some southern areas through the first half of Wednesday before diminishing in overall coverage and intensity. Scattered showers are possible near and north of the state line during the same time frame. Highs will reach the low to mid 70s, and limited breaks of sun are possible for some western zones by afternoon. A drier spell returns Thursday with spotty clouds. Temperatures will remain on the warm side.
