MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Another set of scattered showers, brief heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms have formed in the peak of the heat today. Some downpours may be accompanied by quick bursts of wind gusts, most of which should remain below severe levels. Only a couple of the strongest storms may eclipse the severe threshold, where gusts may reach or exceed 60 mph. Lightning will also be possible in the storms that develop between late-afternoon and dusk. Late tonight, the sky will generally clear and temperatures will gradually fall to lows in the upper 60s to around 70°. We'll still be under the control of the building heat and the afternoon sea-breeze, which will determine where daytime showers and storms will sprout. Highs will reach the upper 80s at the beach, and mid 90s inland again. Limited changes in the pattern are expected until the early parts of next week, when a broader upper low may move into the Southeast and generate higher rain and storm coverage.
