MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Most areas of showers and thunderstorms are tracking eastward this evening, so the I-75 corridor and surrounding areas run the highest chance for spots of heavy rain and active lightning through the evening hours.  A few more showers over the Panhandle will also move east this evening and perhaps provide a late-night rain chance for some of our western counties.  Overall, areas of clouds will persist overnight with warm lows in the low and mid 70s.  An isolated shower is possible in the early morning, increasing to cover about 40% to 50% of the area throughout Wednesday.  In areas that miss out on rain, temps will soar, and highs may reach the middle 90s in those cases.  For the next several days, the region will be placed in a west to northwest wind flow, and daytime heating plus the seabreeze will trigger scattered thunderstorms, but it will likely be quite hot in the afternoons through the weekend.  There are no tropical developments to monitor for the next few days.
