MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
A scattering of late-afternoon and early-evening showers and storms is still forecast, but action may remain less numerous and not as strong as previous nights. The region is in a bit of a squeeze between a modest high-pressure system over the Deep South and a low-pressure system off the Florida east coast. The few showers and storms this evening will fizzle out before midnight, but a few are likely to form again Wednesday afternoon, with some favorability for additional showers and storms near the coast, and perhaps more isolated for inland sections. Lows tonight will be in the lower 70s, and highs will climb well into the 90s except right at the beaches. We’ll stay slightly warmer than average for the next several afternoons, with isolated to widely scattered afternoon and evening showers covering 30 to 40 percent of the region through the end of the week. There are no tropical concerns within the next few days.
