MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Today's scattered showers and isolated storms are being driven by Atlantic moisture flowing westward through the region.  Spotty downpours and occasional lightning are possible, especially in eastern sections around I-75.  We'll remain with partial cloudiness overnight with lows in the mid 70s.  Most of Wednesday will feature sunshine with mixed clouds, which may produce another round of initially scattered rain action with highs still reaching the low and mid 90s.  As the tropical system lurks offshore, it will make a closer approach to coastal zones by late Wednesday with increasing seas and gusts.  The system is forecast to impact somewhere along the Florida Gulf Coast, likely on Thursday, carrying areas of heavy rain, squally conditions, and some tropical storm-force gusts for areas near the coast.  Exact placement of a landfall point cannot be determined right now, but anywhere along the Big Bend coast will be susceptible to deteriorating weather conditions with the approach of the tropical low, which does have the chance to be a tropical storm as it nears.
