MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
It will remain considerably dry over the region as winds transition to a northeasterly direction through tonight and tomorrow. Occasional breezes are likely again, triggered by the tighter squeeze between the mid-Atlantic high-pressure system and the major Hurricane Matthew emerging into the southwestern Atlantic. Tonight's lows will fall into the mid 60s inland to low 70s southeast Big Bend, and highs tomorrow range mainly between 83° and 89° with only isolated showers or a brief storm in the lower Suwannee Valley.
As Hurricane Matthew nears the Florida east coast Thursday and Friday, local impacts will be generally indirect, especially for areas west of Interstate 75. Gusts may be enhanced east of I-75 late Thursday and Friday, and squally conditions will be possible farther east from there. For many areas of southwest Georgia and the western half of the Big Bend, we'll stretch the dry and warm conditions all the way into the beginning of the weekend, before a cold front Sunday knocks a few degrees off of low and high temps for early next week.
