MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Passing layers of clouds have been limiting the sunshine, but the amounts that have gotten through have warmed the region well into the 80s. A broad swirl of moisture and air aloft is helping to create the cloudiness, and even a few scattered showers and storms. Most thunderstorms are located west of the Apalachicola River with slight movement to the north. Isolated storms are along the eastern shore of the Big Bend. Overall rain coverage this evening is forecast to be scarce and spotty with patchy cloud cover and late-night temps falling toward the lower 70s. The upper low near the tri-state will continue to be a factor in partly cloudy to partly sunny sky conditions Wednesday, with a few areas of rain and thunder developing by afternoon. Highs will range from the low 80s in locations with cloudy sky to the upper 80s where more sun occurs. Seasonably warm temperatures will continue through this week; rain chances will vary between 40% in the near-term to a limited 20% coverage over the weekend, but long-range depictions hint at a plume of tropical moisture that may increase the rain threat early next week.
