MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Passing showers and thunderstorms have been occasionally strong earlier today, producing gusty winds that caused some trees to be downed in a few locations.  Evening thunderstorms may not carry that same intensity, but there’s still the potential for periods of heavy downpours and some stronger gusts at times.  The severe weather threat tonight will be limited, but not zero.  Between now and Wednesday evening, as a cold front approaches the region and begins to stall, some locations can received one to two inches of rain.  Afterwards, a bit of drier air will trickle in from the north, causing low shower chances for the remainder of the week.  Tonight, lows will be in the low to mid 70s with a mostly cloudy sky and off-and-on rain activity.  Highs will be confined to the mid to upper 80s in southern areas near the coast, with some lower 90s possible in south Georgia with partial clearing earlier in the day.  The tropics remain quiet and no developing systems are expected.
