MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Above-average late-spring warmth has pushed many areas' afternoon temps to very warm levels, even close to 90° in some cases. We may have reached the peak of the heat for the time being, as changes to the pattern starting Wednesday will slow the daily warming process. Additional clouds are being forecast ahead of a cold front and an upper-level impulse that will spread thin cloudiness over the region through Wednesday. Clouds will thicken by late Wednesday, leading to higher coverage of rain in middle and south Georgia Thursday morning. Afternoon showers are possible south of the state line by Thursday afternoon.
Lows tonight will fall to the upper 50s to around 60°. Eighties are within reach again Wednesday, but the earlier onset of clouds may keep most areas away from the upper end of the 80s. The remainder of the week will remain a bit on the warm side, but trending cooler by early next week.
