MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- High pressure will temporarily build in, limited (but not eliminating) rain chances for the afternoon. With hotter temps and high humidity, it'll likely feel hotter today for many of us. The weekend ahead will feature more rain with an approaching front and increasing moisture.
Thursday: High pressure at the surface and aloft will move in. What does this mean? It translates to a different wind flow and slightly drier conditions. During the Summer months, high pressure is normally attributed to hotter temperatures. That is expected with highs in the lower to mid 90s.
Heat index values may approach the triple digits for some of us today.
Winds out of the east/southeast can still promote the sea breeze (this time, coming from the Atlantic Ocean). Overall rain coverage is expected to be around 30%, but with plenty of heat and available moisture, storms that do form can be strong/intense.
Beach and Boating information along with your Tide Times are available below:
Friday: More of the same is expected for Friday, though more moisture content will start to build once again. Expect morning low temperatures in the lower to mid 70s, with highs in the lower to mid 90s. Rain coverage is anticipated to be around 30% with winds out of the southeast.
Saturday through Wednesday: Increasing tropical moisture and an approaching cold front from the north will help increase rain chances and keep our afternoon highs closer to average for this time of year. Morning lows will be warm with numbers in the lower to mid 70s. Expect highs in the lower 90s with showers/storms becoming scattered to numerous each afternoon (40-50% coverage). By the end of the period, temperatures may start climbing back toward the mid 90s.
