TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- An upper level low pressure system, currently near the Louisiana and Mississippi border, is moving east-northeastward and expected to near us later this afternoon. What this means for our weather is that our rain chances will be a little higher than what we saw Wednesday. This also means that we could see more thunderstorms move through the area.

Today, high temperatures are forecast to reach the mid and upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies and light east to southeast winds. Moving into the afternoon, rain chances increase to 60 percent for much of the day with a chance of non-severe scattered thunderstorms as well. From the evening hours into the overnight hours, rain chances will drop, but the cloudier skies will remain. Overnight lows fall to the lower 70s with a light east wind.
