Storm Team Thursday morning forecast (07/18/2013)

Posted

Today will be another day of drier weather and warm temperatures. An area of high pressure continues to build in the eastern half of the country. The high pressure will bring drier air to our region, which will reduce thunderstorm development and cloud cover. In turn, temperatures will climb into the lower to mid 90s this afternoon. It will be a little cooler at the Gulf coast, with afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. There will only be a 20% chance of seeing some spotty showers. Southeastern counties along the Big Bend will have the highest chance of seeing rainfall and it would occur between 2 PM and sunset. Today would make a great beach day, and it will be your last day of drier weather for the next week. Rain chances will increase to the 50-60% range tomorrow as an area of unsettled weather approaches our region. It will increase afternoon shower and thunderstorm formation, which will increase rain chances into the weekend.
