MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A drying trend is expected to continue today through Saturday as high pressure builds over the Carolinas. It will provide northeast winds to move into the local area, and the nature of these winds are noticeably drier. Because of this, mainly sunny skies are expected throughout most of the morning with partly cloudy skies developing in the afternoon. Temperatures will still be hot with the sun helping to heat up the surface significantly. Expect afternoon highs to be in the low to mid 90s across the region. Rain coverage will be very minimal, less than 20%. Lows into Friday morning are expected to be in the low to mid 70s with isolated spots in the upper 60s.

Friday into Saturday, afternoon highs will likely climb to the mid 90s, but just like today, the "feels like" temperatures wont soar to the triple digits due to the drier nature of the air. Rain coverage stays below 20% until Sunday. Sunday onward, the forecast becomes a bit more uncertain as the progression of a tropical disturbance may help to enhance more showers and storms. We should have a clearer picture by the weekend.
