Storm Team Thursday morning forecast (1/24/2013)

Posted

A weak front slides through our region today, but you likely won’t notice it. We’ll warm up nicely under partly to mostly sunny skies into the lower 70s. Westerly winds will continue to blow smoke eastward through the Big Bend due to several prescribed burns across the area. Dry conditions will also persist, increasing chances of fire spread, please be careful if you are burning. Low temperatures tonight will fall only into the middle 40s. This pattern will continue for Friday until another cold front pushes through Friday night. The front will only be strong enough to spark a few showers through early Saturday morning. Behind it, there will be a cool down but it won’t be huge; highs will be in the low 60s with lows staying well above freezing. The cool down will be brief; we’re warming back into the low 70s starting next week with lows hardly below 50°. Our rain chance will be minimal at best through at least Tuesday before another system starts to dig south. Stay tuned!
