Storm Team Thursday morning forecast (06/27/2013)

Posted

The air was warm and humid in the early morning hours before sunrise. The heat and humidity will persist throughout the day, and Tallahassee will be topping off in temperature around 96 degrees. Coastal regions will be in the low 90s and inland portions of south Georgia will be in the lower to mid 90s this afternoon. There will be a 30% chance of rain throughout the day that is brought about by the southwesterly flow of the sea breeze and the heating into the afternoon hours. A cold front is approaching north of our forecast area, but the air around it, plus effects from the sea breeze, will enhance storm activity and coverage as early as Thursday night. The higher rain chances will continue into the weekend and into the next workweek. Rain chances will be in the 60-70% range starting on Saturday through Wednesday of next week. The increased rain chances and cloud cover will moderate afternoon highs in the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
