We’re going to continue this January “heat wave” for at least the next week. Dew points are now well into the upper 60s giving the air that muggy feel and taste. Meanwhile, it’ll stay plenty warm as highs through the middle of next week will run into the upper 70s with a few isolated 80s sprinkled in. A ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere keeps getting stronger, that’s helping to promote sinking air which warms and prohibits storm formation. Through the weekend the high will be at its closest and strongest point to us taking rain completely out of Saturday and Sunday’s forecast; it’ll also be our best chance to hit 80°. There are still signs of a late week cool down with a front that will sweep through and push the muggy mess out of here; stay tuned!
