TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Thursday is off to a cool start thanks to the weak cold front that passed early yesterday morning. Now that the front has come and gone, our weather is under the influence of a high pressure currently sitting on the border of Alabama and Georgia. This high pressure will slowly move into the gulf during the course of the day, allowing for our winds to become more westerly.

Today, highs are expected to stay unseasonably warm with temperatures heating to the lower and even some mid 80s. The previously mentioned high will help keep our skies mostly sunny for the day. Winds will remain fairly calm, about 5 mph from the north, becoming west in the afternoon.

Tonight, skies will stay mainly clear with just a few passing clouds and a light west wind. Overnight lows fall to the lower and mid 50s throughout the region. Rain is not in the forecast for our Thursday, but the chance for showers will return as we move into Friday and the weekend.
