Storm Team Thursday morning forecast (1/17/2013)

Posted

The warmest part of the day was this morning with temperatures in the mid and upper 60s with scattered showers. The rain was sparked by a cold front that continues to sweep the area through the afternoon; once the rain has ended for you, the front will be gone. Behind the front it’ll be windy and cool with gusts near 35mph and temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s by the evening drive. Skies will gradually clear out but not completely leaving scattered clouds overnight. Lows by Friday morning will be some of the coldest in a while falling into the mid 30s, then you have to talk about the wind. It’ll still crank from the north and northwest near 15mph leading to morning wind chills between 27° and 32°. The cold air hangs around for a while with plenty of sun; highs will be in the low 60s with lows just under 40° through the start of next week. Believe it or not that set up is average for this time of year but it’ll likely feel much cooler for you since we’ve been near 80° for the last week or so.

Be safe and stay warm on this Thursday!
