Storm Team Thursday morning forecast (5/16/2013)

and last updated

The ridge of high pressure that's been responsible for calm and comfortable conditions since Tuesday has moved east. You should care about that because now we're on it's western half giving us a wind from the south; that makes it more humid. It won't be oppressive but it'll be a noticeable change from earlier this week. Meanwhile, the heat stays on as highs soar into the mid and upper 80s with filtered sun today. We can't rule out an isolated shower or two for the next several days but I still wouldn't cancel plans over them. The weekend a few summery thunderstorms will be popping but they will be few in number. The current forecast has us hitting 90° Sunday afternoon and then we don't look back; not to mention it'll be plenty muggy by then. Through all of this "heat" and "mugginess" talk remember, we're now in mid May, days and weeks like this should be considered "normal".

Be safe and have a great Thursday!
