TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Hard freeze warnings for actual air temps into the low to md 20s remains in effect til 1 pm. Wind chill advisories for "feels-like" temps into the upper single digits and teens also remains in effect til the early afternoon. Though we'll have plenty of sunshine to work with, the pesky breeze out of the northeast will keep temps cold only getting into the low to mid 40s. The Arctic high pressure system that has brought the deep freeze will continue to drift into the Deep South. This will allow the winds to ease up, but still cause for a very frigid night. Temps will be in the mid 20s by Friday morning once again but at least wind chills won't be a factor. Highs by the time the kids are coming home for the weekend will be in the mid 50s, so back to bearable levels. A similar trend for Saturday with temps slightly below the freezing mark in the morning and back into the mid 50s for the afternoon with a few more clouds making their way back into the sky. This indicates the breakdown of the vigorous high pressure system as more moisture invades the region. A few isolated showers are possible Sunday as an upper level system advances from the Texas coastline. Temps by Monday will be around average conditions in the low to mid 60s. Scattered showers are possible. Mid to upper 60s for Tuesday and midweek, so truly the deep freeze doesn't last forever!
