MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A cold front will pass through our area today, bringing breezy winds and scattered showers (40% coverage). Areas of patchy fog will be possible ahead of the front during the early morning, with morning temperatures in the mid 60s.

As we move into the early afternoon, the rain chance grows with high temperatures expected to reach the mid 70s. The afternoon will transition from a cloudy and rainy set-up to a clearer pattern around sunset. The clearing skies and resulting northwest winds after the frontal passage will drop our temperatures sharply, with Friday morning lows forecast to be around 40 degrees!

Friday afternoon will be cool, with highs forecast to stay near 60 degrees with clear, sunny skies. Friday night is expected to be colder with lows near freezing in some spots. Saturday afternoon will be slightly warmer than Friday, with highs in the lower to mid 60s.

After this brief polar chill, expect a quick rebound in temperatures as soon as 2017 turns, with Sunday highs in the lower to mid 70s. For Sunday through Tuesday, rain coverage sharply rises as well, when a new frontal system approaches us from the west.
