MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Scattered clouds are filling the sky, and isolated showers are present in far eastern areas of interior north Florida and the western tri-state counties, most of which are moving north and will likely miss the majority of the local area this evening.  However, these are a sign of a more-favorable set-up that will help enhance rain chances between now and early Saturday.  An approaching cold front from the west will trigger additional scattered rain and thunderstorm development through the daytime hours Friday.  A few of the storms in the Flint River region may contain gustier winds and some potential to be strong or briefly severe.  Most activity will wind down early Saturday morning.  Highs Friday will reach the low 80s west to mid and few upper 80s southeast, where rain chances will be the lowest.  Lows tonight will be mild in the 60s.  Saturday and Sunday will feature more sunshine, with slightly cooler mornings and very warm afternoon with drier air in place.
