Storm Team Thursday evening forecast (04/03/2014)

Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

High pressure remains close enough to our region to allow a mostly clear sky to be experienced this evening.  Building cloudiness and storms near the Mississippi River valley will not directly impact us in the near future, but the further weakening and shifting of the high will allow more clouds to develop, leading to a partly cloudy to partly sunny trend by later Friday.  A front associated with the disturbed weather in the Midwest will sink into the area and become a focus for additional cloud cover and occasional showers and a few thunderstorms over the weekend, with a larger mass of unsettled weather lasting into the early parts of next week.  Lows tonight will fall into the upper 50s, and highs will return to the low and mid 80s tomorrow despite the growth in cloud cover.  After next week’s rain event, temperatures are forecast to tumble to well below-average levels for a couple of days.
