MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Some areas of rain and thunder will rumble into the western counties right after sunset, bringing a quick bout of disruptive weather in the form of downpours, lightning, and some gusty winds for some communities, particularly near the Flint River area. Instances of severe thunderstorms should remain limited, but the impacts from rain will be more widespread. The band of storms will weaken after midnight as it shoves its way to the southeast. With clouds and extra moisture around, temperatures will be mild in the 60s before dropping toward the lower 50s after the cold front passes. Drier air will create a clearing trend, with ample sunshine area-wide by afternoon. Highs will range from the mid 60s north to low 70s southeast. The latest high-pressure ridge will stay around for the whole weekend, providing cool mornings and mild afternoons with sunshine. A more pronounced warming trend next week may force highs into the 80s for the first time in a couple of months in some cases.
